People come from all over the world to Nepal in search of enlightenment. A center for Hinduism and Buddhism you can’t help but run into unusual traditions, celebrations and religious practices around every corner.
As always I tried to use light in a variety of ways to capture the spectacle in my own unique ways.

Faceless migrant workers of Delhi
by Aniruddha Guha Sarkar
Like every megapolis Delhi (or New Delhi – the shining capital city of India) is also run by migrant workforce from the neighboring states. Migration is a global phenomenon, and India is not foreign to it. These semi-educated young men come in thousands from the Indian hinterland – every month – to the big cities – in search of livelihoods.
They leave their families back home to lead a meagre existence in the city, they indulge in odd jobs as daily wagers – preparing stage for political or religious events or carnivals, as shopkeepers (at upmarket shopping malls or street-corner shops) or street food vendors. Nobody knows them, they remain faceless forever as they never participate in the events they prepare. The migrant workforce that comes to Delhi, are mainly from neighboring Northern states – perhaps due to similar languages, food habits and social customs. They sleep at make-shift shelters or wherever they work, they eat at the roadside. And much of whatever they earn, they send home. They come alive when religious festivals come or when it is time to go home for a few days. For the rest of the days in a whole year, they run the city and the city never knows that!
These few images attempt to capture days in the lives of those faceless migrant daily-wagers of Delhi.
